Delinquency, State Policies and Human Rights in Chile

Abstract

Chile, which has the largest prison rate in Latin America has implemented a policy based on anti-crime brigade police repression and not in the prevention or integration, in a system of law which focuses on penalties, with coordinated policies of state only in the logic of the internal enemy but not for social integration. Go through these policies a speech focused on the fear and the internal enemy, without major differences between the political blocs. A different policy to the long-term strategy post dictatorship of offenders as enemy must focus on active citizenship, human rights and social integration, far from speeches and repressive practices.
